Villa's 'unbelievable' 111-year first stuns EPL as Man Utd coach declares 'best team lost'
""The record, the run that they're on, but Morgan Rogers has been a big part of that and we saw that today. Two absolute brilliant goals from him," she said."
""And you have to feel for Man Utd. They kept going, they kept trying to get that equaliser. But from an Aston Villa perspective, unbelievable. What a record.""
Aston Villa beat Manchester United 2-1 at Villa Park as Morgan Rogers scored twice, including a stunning late first-half strike and a decisive second-half goal. Matheus Cunha briefly equalised for United between Rogers' strikes. The victory was Villa's tenth successive win in all competitions and their seventh consecutive top-flight victory, lifting them to third place, three points behind leaders Arsenal and one behind Manchester City. The run is Villa's best winning streak since 1914 and their longest league sequence since 1989-90. The resurgence follows a poor start of two points from five matches, and Villa have lost only once at home in the Premier League in 2025.
