Matheus Cunha briefly equalised for United between Rogers' strikes. The victory was Villa's tenth successive win in all competitions and their seventh consecutive top-flight victory, lifting them to third place, three points behind leaders Arsenal and one behind Manchester City. The run is Villa's best winning streak since 1914 and their longest league sequence since 1989-90. The resurgence follows a poor start of two points from five matches, and Villa have lost only once at home in the Premier League in 2025.
