TP Mazembe secured their first African Women's Champions League title with a 1-0 victory over AS FAR, thanks to a penalty by Marlene Kasaj in the 10th minute.
AS FAR, expected to perform better, were unable to match their previous form and failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities, leading to their subdued performance in the final.
Boss Lamia Boumehdi was jubilant after her team’s historic win, as TP Mazembe celebrated their victory, becoming the third champions of the African Women’s Champions League.
The prize money was significantly increased for this year’s tournament, with TP Mazembe receiving $600,000 and AS FAR taking home $400,000 for their efforts in the final.
