Tonali 'happy' but says future hard to predict
""This is a tough question because, you know, [in] football you need to think year for year. "I don't want to say I want to stay here 10 years and in two years, three years, four years [or] five years I will go.""
""The last summer was tough for us, for Alex [Isak], but this is football. "If you have an option for your life, for another team you need to think about everything. "I don't want to say, 'Yes, I want to stay here 10 years', but now I'm happy here. I don't think anything about another team.""
Sandro Tonali joined Newcastle United in July 2023 for £55m from AC Milan. He initially signed a five-year contract and extended it by one year while serving a 10-month ban from the Italian Football Federation for breaching betting rules. The club holds an option to trigger a further 12-month extension to 2030. Tonali has played 14 times this season and has become an integral part of Eddie Howe's team. He is taking his future one year at a time and is happy at Newcastle, not thinking about moving to another club. The previous summer included a drawn-out transfer controversy involving Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool.
