"I can't wait to get started in January and to get to know the club on a deeper level,"
"Together, we want to continue on what is already a successful path, and achieve our ambitious goals."
"In our discussions, she impressed us and the committees with her expertise, as well as her combination of specialist knowledge, leadership strength and strategic thinking,"
Tatjana Haenni has been named head of RB Leipzig's management board and will start on January 1, 2026. The 59-year-old Swiss succeeds where Oliver Mintzlaff began and becomes the first woman to hold a club-boss role in German football. Haenni highlighted a focus on teamwork, the club's strengths and ambitious goals. She played for Switzerland 23 times and brings extensive administrative experience from roles at UEFA, FIFA and the Swiss Football Association. Mintzlaff, now chair of the supervisory board, praised her expertise, specialist knowledge, leadership strength and strategic thinking. Other women have held senior roles at German clubs, but none had held the top job.
