Swansea are monitoring Adam Idah, an Irish international currently at Celtic, while avoiding comment on players not at the club. Celtic paid around £9.5m to sign Idah from Norwich in August 2024, and Idah has struggled for form; Celtic could consider selling or loaning him if a replacement is found. Swansea are assessing squad balance and seeking a striker to compete with Zan Vipotnik, Liam Cullen and Bobby Wales to improve depth. Midfielder Ollie Cooper, who missed a Wales call-up for the Kazakhstan qualifier, may leave to secure regular playing time; decisions are expected in the next few days.
"He is a player I'm aware of obviously, an Irish international so yeah I do know him. A good player but I don't want to comment on anybody that's not our player," said Sheehan.
"We're having a look at where where the balance is with what we have in the building and on what we want to improve depth-wise," added Sheehan. "Because if we lose a player here or there, we look a bit lighter in some areas, so that's something to to go through in the next couple of days."
"He was involved the other night [against Plymouth Argyle] and in league games as well, so I think for somebody like Ollie he does need to be playing regularly, and to go and have an impact on that World Cup squad is something that I've spoken about with him."
