Former Manchester United manager Casey Stoney has been appointed as head coach of the Canada women's national team, effective immediately, to lead them in upcoming matches.
Stoney, who was previously sacked by San Diego Wave, has a strong coaching background, including successful stints with Manchester United, and impressive achievements as a player.
The Canada women's national team was in search of a new head coach following Bev Priestman's dismissal after the 2024 Olympic Games drone incident.
As a player, Stoney was highly decorated with 12 major trophies and represented England in three World Cups, showcasing her extensive experience in the sport.
