FIFA has confirmed that the 2030 World Cup will celebrate its centenary by hosting matches in six countries over three continents, honoring its rich history.
The tournament will begin with three opening matches held in South America, specifically in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, recognizing the centenary of the inaugural World Cup.
Initially, a joint bid from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay was submitted, but Ukraine was replaced by Morocco as a co-host due to the safety concerns arising from the war.
Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will jointly host the main tournament while maintaining a historical connection through the opening matches played in South America.
