"You've got to have LA and New York to be able to do that, so what better place than in Soho? LA-native Davis started the brand in 2018 in his garage, heat-pressing his designs onto shirts and named his brand after the day when we celebrated the game, we played, and we hung out, and we watched matches, Davis said. The whole week's anticipation was up to that day."
"Davis designs all the merchandise, from the club-specific caps to city-specific Saturdays Football hoodies, which have patches of local amateur teams sewn onto the hood. The designs are minimalist, matching Davis' personality. Racks of jerseys hang on walls everywhere inside, and Saturdays' line of merchandise, from caps and hoodies to socks and Diego Maradona-inspired t-shirts, greets customers when they enter the store."
Saturdays Football launched a Soho flagship to expand its presence in New York, complementing permanent locations in Los Angeles and Chicago and pop-up stores nationwide. The brand began in 2018 when founder Mathew Davis heat-pressed designs in his garage and named the label for the social ritual of matchday. Product offerings include streetwear, club-specific caps, city hoodies with local amateur team patches, socks and vintage jerseys. The brand shifted between vintage and lifestyle directions and is moving back toward lifestyle roots. The Soho store emphasizes a fan-focused environment with minimalist design, jerseys on display, seating, soccer books and match highlights playing on a large TV.
