""Game On, San Jose,""
""The big game will get played on Feb. 8, and it will go away," Guido said. "But the legacy that it leaves will be defined by the work we do in the community that changes lives.""
San Jose launched "Game On, San Jose" to leverage the Super Bowl on Feb. 8, FIFA World Cup games at Levi's Stadium this summer, and NCAA March Madness to create a lasting impact for city youth. Mayor Matt Mahan and several Bay Area sports teams will bring sports-related experiences to thousands of students in classrooms and at community events. The launch at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley's Smythe Clubhouse in East San Jose featured street hockey and football drills, mascots S.J. Sharkie, Gigante, and Q, and appearances by local sports leaders. Residents can sign up for future school visits and events at sj26.sanjose.org/gameon.
