Spain confirmed Rodri withdrew from the squad for matches against Georgia and Bulgaria after sustaining a hamstring concern in Manchester City's Premier League win at Brentford. He was substituted in the 21st minute after sitting on the centre circle holding his hamstring and limping off, replaced by Nico González. Rodri said he felt a little in the hamstring and that it seemed not that serious, noting he had stretched similarly after the Euros final. He has been rebuilding fitness following surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his right knee suffered in September 2024 and aims to regain top form after initially returning at the end of last season.
