Rob Edwards was stood down from Middlesbrough's Championship match against Birmingham amid sustained interest from Wolves in their vacant manager role. Wolves made a formal approach that Middlesbrough rejected, and club chiefs reportedly held talks with Edwards before deciding he should not be involved on Saturday.
