"Despite many months of talks, there is still no agreement between the sides. Bayern tabled a massive contract offer to their star center-back near the start of 2026, but have not heard back in the three weeks since. This has incensed Bayern and they are preparing to take action. According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Upamecano only has days left to sign the current deal:"
"Bayern are now significantly increasing the pressure on Dayot Upamecano and his agents. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have received approval from the supervisory board to withdraw their offer for Upamecano in the coming days should the player fail to sign. An improved offer is out of the question. From Bayern's perspective, they don't want to wait any longer and would accept a departure on a free transfer in the summer."
"If the offer is pulled, the chances of Upamecano would reduce dramatically. Still, this would not be the first time Bayern have pulled an offer off the table for one of their players and still retained them for the following season. The club did the same with Kimmich in 2025, arguing that the Germany international had taken too much time to make his decision. In the end, Kimmich did end up renewing until 2029."
Dayot Upamecano and Bayern Munich remain deadlocked over a contract renewal after months of negotiations. Bayern submitted a significant contract proposal near the start of 2026 but received no response in the ensuing three weeks. The club has secured supervisory-board approval to withdraw the offer if Upamecano does not sign within days and has ruled out improving the offer. Bayern would accept a free transfer in the summer rather than continue extended talks. Internal belief within the club is that Upamecano may be awaiting an offer from Real Madrid. Bayern previously withdrew an offer for Kimmich in 2025, with Kimmich later renewing.
