Report: Bayer Leverkusen expresses interest in Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka
"Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan, and Atlético Madrid have all - allegedly - expressed interest in outgoing Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka. Now, Bayer Leverkusen could also be putting its hat into the ring for the Germany international: Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Leon Goretzka on a free transfer in the summer and have inquired to the player's management about the feasibility of the deal. Goretzka has not categorically rejected the idea but currently prefers a move abroad to the Premier League."
"Bayer Leverkusen could be a very interesting destination for Goretzka and an option that would ensure the most seamless transition. However, Leverkusen is also the club most unlikely to give Goretzka the big deal that he is likely to seek for the final "big" contract of his career. At a minimum, at least Goretzka has clubs interested in him at this stage."
Multiple top clubs — Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Atlético Madrid — have reportedly shown interest in Leon Goretzka. Bayer Leverkusen have also made inquiries to the player's management about a free transfer in the summer. Goretzka has not ruled the move out but currently prefers a transfer abroad to the Premier League. Leverkusen view Goretzka as a leadership option to replace Granit Xhaka in midfield. Leverkusen may offer the most seamless sporting transition but are seen as unlikely to meet the large final contract Goretzka may seek. At least several clubs remain interested.
