"I said to the referee that he needed to be stronger and he booked me,"
"I went to shake his hand, said that he needed to be stronger, and that was enough for him to book me. If I'm not allowed to say that, then I shouldn't have said it."
"'a joke'"
"'disappointing'"
Northern Ireland lost 1-0 to Slovakia in Kosice when substitute Tomas Bobcek scored in additional time. Slovakia had two earlier efforts disallowed: Lukas Haraslin's free-kick was ruled out for an obstruction by Milan Skriniar, and David Strelec’s strike was overturned for handball by VAR. Northern Ireland contended that Bobcek’s late winner involved a push on Daniel Ballard by Leo Sauer. Daniel Ballard was later sent off after receiving a yellow card that manager Michael O'Neill described as 'a joke.' Northern Ireland still qualify for the March play-offs thanks to winning their Nations League group but will be a fourth seed.
