"Jamie is looking a little bit more long term, Rosenior said when asked about Gittens. It's a real shame for him, he's got a tear in his hamstring. Obviously I've not worked with him for too long, obviously I've known about his career and what an outstanding player he is, so that's going to be a big miss for us."
"Gittens hasn't exactly hit the ground running since arriving at Stamford Bridge last summer, with just one goal and five assists in all competitions so far. Jamie Gittens will be sidelined long-term with a torn hamstring, according to Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior. Rosenior said he has not worked with Gittens long but knows his career and called him an outstanding player. Gittens has struggled since joining Stamford Bridge, scoring one goal and providing five assists in all competitions and failing to secure a regular Premier League starting role. He has two assists and no league goals. Gittens excelled previously at Borussia Dortmund, scoring 12 goals last season. The injury reduces his chances amid heavy competition for places in the squad.
