Sweden can still reach the play-offs thanks to their finish in the 2024-25 Nations League. Potter returns to management less than a month after his West Ham dismissal, where he won six of 23 matches after taking charge in January. A poor start with five losses in six games left West Ham in the Premier League's bottom three. Potter said he is humbled and inspired and aims to create conditions for the team to qualify for next summer's World Cup. His first matches are away to Switzerland and at home to Slovenia.
