Mark Mogan, 47, from Liverpool, has been charged with a racially aggravated section 5 public order offence relating to alleged abuse of Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo. The alleged incident took place at Anfield on 15 August during the Liverpool v Bournemouth Premier League fixture. Match referee Anthony Taylor stopped play after Semenyo reported racial abuse, and a man was ejected from the stadium. Merseyside Police confirmed the charge in a statement. Mogan has been conditionally bailed and is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on 22 December.
