Pickford targeting European places with Everton after contract extension - Soccer News
""I'm over the moon, and it gives me the opportunity to build a legacy for myself here, move forward and build this club to where we want to be. "Everton is a really special club to me. Coming from Sunderland as a young lad and growing into a man here, it's been a special time for me and my family.""
""I think the dark days are behind us, and it's about building that momentum as a team and the club now. I think it's the whole deal, really. "The manager wanted us to continue our form [from the end of last season] into this one, and he'll keep pushing us. "We've started well, and we want to keep building that momentum and get Everton Football Club back to a team that competes in Europe.""
Jordan Pickford signed a four-year contract extension with Everton that runs until the end of June 2029. He joined Everton in 2017 from Sunderland and has made 326 appearances for the club while earning 80 England caps. Pickford played his 300th Premier League match for Everton against Crystal Palace, becoming only the second goalkeeper to reach that total for the club and the second English keeper to reach 300 appearances for a single club. He recorded nine consecutive clean sheets for England during October, helping secure a place at the 2026 World Cup. Everton sit eighth after seven league games; Pickford aims for European qualification and silverware.
