Fabian Ruiz had a goal ruled out following a VAR review, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Flamengo were later awarded a penalty, which Jorginho converted, and extra time remained goalless despite chances from Ousmane Dembele and Nuno Mendes.
