""The club have been totally transparent with me throughout the whole process but they've never had anything to tell me other than the truth, which is they're moving as quickly as possible to bring in a new manager,""
""What I can say is that's not going to be me. I'm not part of the process.""

Darren O'Dea will lead Swansea at Bristol City following Alan Sheehan's sacking ten days earlier. O'Dea joined Swansea in May as assistant and will be supported by Richard Stearman, Kristian O'Leary and head of goalkeeping Martyn Margetson. Swansea aim to appoint a new head coach as quickly as possible and have ruled O'Dea out of the permanent role. The club initially targeted Kim Hellberg before turning attention to Vitor Matos, but Hellberg moved to Middlesbrough and Maritimo insist Matos will not leave without a one million euro release clause. The uncertainty is potentially unsettling for staff while players are expected to perform.
