Michael O'Connor, 38, has been appointed manager of Glenavon, succeeding Paddy McLaughlin who left at the end of last month. O'Connor played in England and made 70 appearances for Glenavon between 2020 and 2023. He served as assistant manager at Newry City and later as part of Dean Shiels' backroom staff at Coleraine. He will be joined at Glenavon by Mark Ferguson and Andrew Doyle. Glenavon have lost all 11 matches so far this season, including a 3-0 home defeat by Bangor, and sit bottom of the table, ten points behind Crusaders with two games in hand.
