Norwich appoint former Rangers boss Clement
""I'm really excited by this story and opportunity. I've known of this club for a long time and, whilst we are not in a good moment at this time, we are excited to work together with the players and staff to turn things around," Clement said. "Meeting with the owners and hearing some of their ambitions for the club, it really convinced me that this is the best move. "They have big plans for the future but, of course, our job in the short term is to turn around the current situation and get everyone believing again. "I also see the potential in the club and the group of players and feel totally ready for the challenge ahead.""
""Good luck to the big Belgian Philippe Clement at Norwich City. Not an easy task taking over a team low on quality and confidence. Staying up this season is the priority.- Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73)""
Norwich have appointed Philippe Clement as head coach on a contract running until summer 2029. Clement was sacked by Rangers in February and replaces Liam Manning, who was dismissed earlier this month. Coach Stephan Van Der Heyden will join Clement at Carrow Road. Clement expressed excitement about the opportunity, noted familiarity with the club, highlighted owners' ambitions and the need to turn around the current situation while seeing potential in the players. Chris Sutton warned the task is difficult given low quality and confidence and identified staying up this season as the priority. Clement's first match is away at Birmingham on Saturday.
