The Northern Premier League match between Avro (Oldham) and Kidsgrove Athletic was abandoned in the 84th minute with Avro leading 6-0 and Kidsgrove reduced to nine players. Fighting erupted behind one goal after arguments in the stands and footage shows Kidsgrove players entering the stands and one player appearing to hit a fan. One player jumped over hoardings to get into the crowd. Greater Manchester Police are investigating the circumstances and no arrests have been made. The incident has been reported to the Football Association. Avro described the behaviour of some Kidsgrove fans, players and officials as "appalling." Kidsgrove stated it does not condone inappropriate behaviour and will await the outcome of investigations.
