Newcastle United have sent scouts to watch 22-year-old Wesley Franca and are interested in signing the AS Roma wing-back. AS Roma paid around 25 million for the Brazilian in the summer and his valuation has reportedly doubled to 50 million. Wesley can operate on either flank and offers long-term potential as a wing-back. He has been linked previously to Everton, Brighton and attracted Arsenal interest while at Flamengo. Newcastle already have Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, so the club would need to provide game-time assurances and a clear role to convince Wesley to join. A 50 million fee represents a significant investment.
