McCarthy replaces Francis Kimanzi and emphasizes the importance of player dedication and mindset. Currently fourth in their World Cup qualifying group, Kenya aims to leverage their position to surprise many by making it to the tournament, which they have never done before.
McCarthy stated, "With the right mindset and dedication from the players, I think we can surprise a lot of people by still qualifying for the World Cup."
He mentioned, "Participating in the World Cup, it is one of the most special feelings in the world and I want to give them that."
