New boss Docherty brings 'proven leadership' to Ross County
"We are thrilled to welcome Tony Docherty to Ross County,"
"He brings with him not only a wealth of experience and proven leadership but also a clear alignment with our club values and long-term vision."
"His commitment to embedding himself within our club and community gives us great confidence as we work together to secure our place back in the Scottish Premiership."
"We were hugely encouraged by the quality of applications we received during the process, and we would like to thank all those who expressed interest in leading our club."
Tony Docherty has been appointed manager of Ross County. He was dismissed by Dundee after a tenth-place Scottish Premiership finish despite guiding them to a top-six spot in 2023-24 and earning nominations for PFA Scotland and Scottish Football Writers' manager of the year. Docherty previously served as Derek McInnes' assistant at St Johnstone, Bristol City, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock before taking the Dundee job. Ross County aim to return to the top flight at the first attempt following a play-off defeat by Livingston in May. Don Cowie departed after a draw and two defeats, and interim John Robertson most recently secured a 2-2 draw at Dunfermline Athletic.
