Giannis Antetokounmpo has joined the ownership group of Chelsea FC Women alongside Alexis Ohanian. Antetokounmpo is Greek-Nigerian and plays for the Milwaukee Bucks as a power forward/center. He announced the investment on social media and expressed pride in partnering with Ohanian to support growth and impact in women's sport. Ohanian responded by posting a photograph of a young Antetokounmpo at Stamford Bridge and welcoming him. Chelsea have won six consecutive WSL titles but trail Manchester City by 12 points with eight matches remaining. Other U.S.-based celebrities who have invested in British football include Tom Brady, Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant.
