Germany registered an expected goals (xG) total of 2.81 from 11 attempts, versus Northern Ireland's 0.28 from three attempts. The victory provided a response after a 2-0 loss to Slovakia that had been Germany's first opening qualifying defeat. Germany moved level on points with Northern Ireland in Group A and will face Northern Ireland away in October.
