Alyssa Naeher has been voted the 2024 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, acquiring 40.8% of the weighted vote, ahead of last year's winner, Naomi Girma.
Naeher, only the second goalkeeper to win this award since its inception in 1985, highlighted the honor as the culmination of a special year with her teammates.
She expressed gratitude, stating, "I was inspired all year long by my incredible teammates; the work we put in...their love and support".
The award adds to Naeher's accomplishments in 2024, including being named The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper of the Year and a member of The Best FIFA Best Women's 11.
