Murray takes over as Hibernian head coach
"Everyone knows about my association with this magnificent club and how much Hibs means to me. This moment is certainly up there with one of the proudest moments in my career."
"We are constantly planning for the future, and, following Grant Scott's departure, there was no doubt in our minds that Joelle was ready to step up. She already has good relationships with the current playing squad, staff, knows the Scottish women's game inside out, and lives and breathes Hibernian FC."
Joelle Murray has been appointed head coach of Hibernian on a three-and-a-half-year contract following Grant Scott's departure to Celtic. Murray, 39, served as Scott's assistant and concluded a 21-year playing career at Hibs in 2024 with more than 500 appearances. She won two league titles and 12 cups during her playing career and earned 48 Scotland caps. Murray was the first woman to sign a professional contract at Easter Road. The club's sporting director emphasized Murray's established relationships with players and staff and her deep knowledge of the Scottish women's game.
