Mohamed Salah returns to Liverpool squad for Marseille clash
"Mohamed Salah could make his Liverpool return in Wednesday's Champions League clash at Marseille. The Egypt forward has been included in Arne Slot's travelling squad after rejoining his teammates for training on Tuesday following his exploits at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, France centre-back Ibrahima Konaté was absent from the lunchtime session and the squad list due to personal reasons and it is understood he is already back in his homeland."
"Having been left out of the side for three matches, Salah conducted an explosive interview after a chaotic draw at Leeds in which he accused the club of throwing him "under the bus" after results took a dive. He also suggested he had no relationship with Slot and questioned whether he would remain at the club -- comments which resulted in him being left out of the squad which travelled to Inter Milan in the Champions League."
Mohamed Salah rejoined Liverpool training on Tuesday after his Africa Cup of Nations appearances and has been included in the travelling squad for the Champions League trip to Marseille. France centre-back Ibrahima Konaté was absent from the session and squad list for personal reasons and is understood to have returned home. Salah’s Anfield future had been uncertain after a dispute with head coach Arne Slot that led to him being omitted from three matches and from the Inter Milan squad. Salah returned as an early substitute against Brighton, left for international duty, and appeared in good spirits at the recent training session. Dominik Szoboszlai remained in daily contact with Salah but said the decision on his return is one for the manager and the club.
