Mohamed Salah left out of Liverpool squad vs Inter in Champions League
"I have done so much for this club down the years, and especially last season. Now I'm sitting on the bench and I don't know why. I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don't have any relationship. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame."
"It is not acceptable for me. I don't know why this is happening to me. I don't get it. I think if this was somewhere else, every club would protect its player. How I see it now is like 'you throw Mo under the bus because he is the problem in the team now'. But I don't think I am the problem. I have done so much for this club."
Mohamed Salah has been omitted from Liverpool's squad for the Champions League trip to Inter following a breakdown with head coach Arne Slot. The 33-year-old Egypt captain has scored 250 goals in 420 Liverpool appearances and was last season's top scorer, but has five goals in 18 matches in 2025/26 and has not started the last three games. Salah remained an unused substitute in Liverpool's 3-3 draw at Leeds and said he felt 'thrown under the bus'. He trained with teammates on Monday and Slot will speak to the media on arrival in Milan. Salah signed a new two-year contract in April and contributed three goals and four assists in nine appearances.
