Inter Miami started Mateo Silvetti over Luis Suárez in the Eastern Conference semifinal versus FC Cincinnati, a formation previously tried during Suárez's suspension. Coach Javier Mascherano described the choice as difficult given Suárez's track record and importance, and praised Suárez for understanding the decision, training well and supporting teammates. Suárez entered the match in the 76th minute, replacing Tadeo Allende. Silvetti and Allende scored, while Lionel Messi had a goal and three assists.
