Liverpool winger Kone-Doherty signs for Molde
"It is the perfect club for me to come to. I like the project I have been presented with here and I am very excited to get started. I am a player who likes to get the fans up from their seats. I always try to express myself on the pitch and be fearless."
Trent Kone-Doherty, a 19-year-old Republic of Ireland underage international, has completed a transfer from Liverpool to Norwegian club Molde on a four-year deal. Originally joining Liverpool from Derry City in 2022, Kone-Doherty developed through the club's youth system, appearing regularly at U18, U19, and U21 levels. He made two first-team appearances for Liverpool, including an FA Cup debut against Plymouth Argyle in February 2025 and a Carabao Cup appearance against Crystal Palace. With his Liverpool contract expiring in summer, the winger moves to Molde, which finished 10th in the Norwegian top flight last season. Kone-Doherty expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing his desire to excite fans through fearless, expressive play.
