Kompany claims 2026 will be Musialas year as Bayern Munich star nears return - Soccer News
"Musiala still has a little way to go, but everything is going well,"
"If he can train with us a few more times, we'll be very happy. Hopefully, 2026 will be his year."
"If everything goes according to plan, he could get his first minutes of playing time against Mainz,"
"We're really happy about that. It's looking good. He's very close to a comeback. We've been patient; a comeback in 2025 is a bonus for us."
Jamal Musiala has not played this season after fracturing his fibula while featuring for Bayern against Paris Saint-Germain at the Club World Cup. Musiala starred at Euro 2024 for Germany and appeared 40 times for Bayern last term, scoring 18 goals, providing five assists and creating 73 chances. He has not yet returned to training but is reported to be nearing fitness. Alphonso Davies is also close to returning from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and could get minutes against Mainz. Bayern sit eight points clear in the Bundesliga with four matches before the winter break and a Champions League tie with Sporting CP.
