Former Lioness Jill Scott reflects on the remarkable advancements in girls' football since her younger days, stating she might struggle to keep up with current technical levels. During a visit to Sunderland, she praised the current provisions available, including emerging talent centers that support young female players. Coach Katie Gibson received recognition for her contributions to the sport. Scott's experiences underscore the significant progress in the sport and her commitment to supporting the next generation, feeling fortunate to witness so many girls now passionate about football.
When we were kids, sometimes we wouldn't even get 11 players for the pitch, and now you look behind me and you've got so many girls here just wanting to play football.
