Kai Havertz missed an opening training session and will be assessed for a knee injury after swelling needed to settle before evaluation. Havertz missed a large part of last season with a hamstring injury and did not return until May. Viktor Gyokeres arrived from Sporting in the summer to provide an additional centre-forward option for Arsenal. Havertz is now the club's fourth-most expensive signing and has scored 29 goals in 88 appearances. Arsenal are unlikely to risk him for the immediate match against Leeds given a challenging run of fixtures ahead.
