The Indian Super League (ISL) teams are experiencing significant uncertainty due to a delayed ruling from the supreme court that was expected in mid-July. The 2025-26 season was initially expected to start in September, but Football Sports Development Ltd (FSDL) announced a hold on the competition. Stakeholders are growing increasingly anxious as confidence wanes. Sunil Chhetri expressed concern about the indefinite delay impacting players' preparedness, while Kalyan Chaubey of the All India Football Federation described the current situation as a crisis beyond their control.
Crystal Palace may be disappointed the court of arbitration for sport ruled against them on Monday but at least they now know their fate.
The whole of football there has been waiting for a ruling from the supreme court. It was expected in mid-July but has still not arrived.
The season is due to start in September. Or at least, it was.
Kalyan Chaubey called the situation a crisis for which we are not responsible.
