In form Bayern Munich U-17 talents sign new contracts
"Bayern Munich's youth teams have had a difficult 2025/26 season. At the time of writing, the U-23s are languishing 19 points off of 1st place while the U-19s were knocked out in the group stages of the UEFA Youth League and collected less points in their domestic league than last year. The U-17s are perhaps the one stand-out group of the three oldest age groups this season."
"There were some low moments, but the team ended up bagging 36 points in 14 league matches. Unsurprisingly, this has seen some players rewarded for their good form. Center-backs Filip Pavić and Xavier Pucci have formed a regular duo at the heart of the defense and signed their new contracts at Bayern together, as made official by Bayern's official website: FC Bayern have secured the long-term services of two promising central defenders from their U17 team."
"BothFilip Pavić (born January 19, 2010) and captain Xaver Pucci (born March 16, 2009) have extended their contracts ahead of schedule. In typical fashion, Bayern have not made official the length of the contract extensions. Campus sporting director, Markus Weinzierl, had this to say about the extensions: "We are delighted to be moving forward with these two homegrown talents. Both joined FC Bayern at a young age and have absorbed the Mia san Mia spirit. Both are key players and top performers in the U17 team. We believe in their further development potential and are very excited to see what the future holds for them.""
Bayern Munich's youth ranks struggled in 2025/26, with the U-23s trailing first place by 19 points and the U-19s eliminated in the UEFA Youth League group stage while earning fewer domestic points than the prior season. The U-17s stood out, gathering 36 points from 14 league matches despite occasional low moments. Center-backs Filip Pavić and Xaver Pucci formed a regular partnership and signed contract extensions ahead of schedule. Bayern did not disclose the lengths of the new deals. Both players are considered key performers for the U17s, and the club expressed excitement about their future development.
