"Brondby are fourth in the Danish Superliga after seven games of the season, four points adrift of leaders and defending champions Copenhagen. The club announced on Tuesday they had parted company with Frederik Birk, who only took the reins in January, and replaced him with Cooper on a three-year contract. Cooper's first match in charge will be against Copenhagen on Saturday, and the 45-year-old's ultimate ambition is to win Brondby's first league title since 2020-21."
""I want exactly what you want; a team that wins trophies and gets back to the top of Danish football," Cooper said in an open letter to the club's fans. "I am ambitious to win and to see what this club can do at its very best. The ownership of Brondby feel the same way and their vision for the club is a major part of why I am here.""
Steve Cooper has been appointed head coach of 11-time Danish champions Brondby on a three-year contract. Brondby sit fourth in the Danish Superliga after seven matches, four points behind leaders Copenhagen. Cooper's first match in charge will be away to Copenhagen on Saturday and he has stated his ambition to win Brondby's first league title since 2020–21. The club dismissed Frederik Birk, who had taken charge in January. Brondby will not play in European competition this season after being eliminated from the Conference League play-offs by Strasbourg. Cooper was sacked by Leicester in November 2024 and previously led Nottingham Forest to a Championship play-off win and Premier League survival.
