Huddersfield appoint Manning as head coach
""I am thankful to have been given the trust of such a prestigious role, and I'll do everything in my power to create some positive history of our own," Manning said., external "Inheriting an extremely talented and capable first-team squad and staff, I look forward to working closely with them all as we strive to fulfil our potential. "We have a lot to still play for this season, and I'm truly excited to get going.""
"Manning has previously reached the League One play-offs when in charge of MK Dons in 2022, while he guided Oxford into the automatic promotion places in the third tier during the 2023-24 season before departing for Ashton Gate. Having taken his first training session on Tuesday, Manning will be in charge for Saturday's League One fixture against fellow promotion-chasers Bradford City."
Liam Manning, 40, has been appointed head coach of Huddersfield Town on a long-term contract, replacing Lee Grant three days after Grant's dismissal. Grant had been eight months into a three-year deal and left with the club sixth in the League One table. Manning previously managed Norwich, Bristol City, MK Dons, and Oxford, achieving play-off and promotion successes with Bristol City, MK Dons, and Oxford before short stints at Norwich. Manning has taken his first training session and will manage the upcoming League One match against Bradford City. Coaching staff details will be confirmed later.
