Howe delighted after Botman commits long-term future to Newcastle - Soccer News
"We're delighted that Sven has committed his long-term future to the club. He has been an outstanding player for us since he joined and I firmly believe there's more to come from him. Sven has a strong mentality and work ethic, which is clear every time he trains or plays. We value his presence on and off the pitch and l'm really pleased to see his long-term future secured here."
"I'm really happy to sign this contract. This club has given me so much in the last three-and-a-half years. I've grown as a person and as a player here and I feel like I have so much more to give in the long term. That's why both parties are really happy with this decision and I'm looking forward to what's coming in the future here."
Newcastle United secured Sven Botman on a new contract that runs until the summer of 2030. The 26-year-old has made 93 appearances since joining from Lille ahead of the 2022–23 season, including 17 this term. Botman has directly contributed five Premier League goals (two goals, three assists) in 72 matches, won 63.5% of his duels and 64.5% of his tackles, and made two appearances in the club's EFL Cup-winning run last season despite missing the final with a knee injury. Botman expressed happiness at signing and a desire to give more long-term. Newcastle face Manchester City in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg and have won nine consecutive matches in the competition.
