How Eustace ghosted into Derby to try to rescue Rams
Briefly

John Eustace attended Derby County's match against Oxford United to absorb the atmosphere before officially taking over as head coach. Although he was still with Blackburn Rovers at the time, he wanted to connect with the fans and experience the matchday environment that he cherished as a player. Eustace recognized the challenges ahead for Derby but felt a strong desire to help the club return to its former glory, motivated by his past experiences at Pride Park and the support of the fans.
I was there, but watching on the screens. I didn't want to get too close, but I wanted to feel the atmosphere again and be part of the matchday experience.
I didn't need swaying at all. I know exactly what Pride Park can be and how powerful the fans can be. I've been here when the club has been rocking.
That really motivates me going forward to get the club back into that position, no matter how long it takes.
