Hermoso left out of Tome's Spain squad again
Briefly

Montse Tomé has once again excluded Jenni Hermoso from the squad for the UEFA Women's Nations League, citing 'sporting reasons' for the decision. Hermoso is the all-time top scorer for Spain and has not played for the national team since the October 2024 due to the fallout from the kiss scandal. Nevertheless, Tomé acknowledges Hermoso's improvements and emphasizes that the decision is based on current team needs, keeping the door open for her return in the future. The squad also sees the return of key players Alexia Putellas and Patri Guijarro after injuries.
"There's no reason other than a sporting one," Tomé said. "We have evaluated Jenni. We know she is working to come [back] to the national team."
"Jenni has been and is an important player," she said. "In the last month, her performances have progressed. I've been told and I'm aware that she is keen to keep working to come to the national team."
