Crystal Palace's legal battle against UEFA's decision to demote them to the Europa Conference League centers around allegations of breaching multi-club ownership regulations involving American investor John Textor. UEFA indicated Textor's dual ownership of both Crystal Palace and French club Lyon as the basis for the sanction. The club has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, asserting that Textor does not exert decisive control over Palace. A decision from the CAS is expected soon, and Palace's chairman has expressed optimism in their legal arguments.
The governing body pointed to American investor John Textor, who holds shares in the South London outfit while also serving as majority owner of French club Lyon - another side set to feature in the Europa League this season.
Palace lodged their appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in July, naming UEFA, Lyon, and Nottingham Forest in their challenge.
Glasner said, 'I'm always positive. I can't see anything why we would should be demoted and why we should stay in the Conference League.'
UEFA rules prohibit clubs under the significant control of the same individual or entity from appearing in the same competition.
