The last opponent before the tournament will be none other than one of the co-hosts, the United States of America. The dress rehearsal will be held in early June."

Additional preparatory friendlies will be played against Ivory Coast, Switzerland, and Finland. World Cup qualification is not yet secured: Germany must win upcoming matches against Luxembourg and Slovakia, or obtain four points depending on other results, to reach the finals.
