Frank brands crowd booing Vicario not 'true Spurs fans' after handing Fulham first away win
"I heard some of our fans apparently booed the incident and booed after, which, in my opinion is completely unacceptable. "[They] can't be true Tottenham fans that do that. Fair enough booing after the game, no problem, but when we are playing, we are supporting each other, we are behind each other going forward.""
""The second goal was a mistake of mine, I take responsibility for that. The intent was to clear the ball long and I just hit the ball in a bad way. It was an even bigger mountain to climb.""
Tottenham suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Fulham after two quick goals inside six minutes. Kenny Tete opened the scoring and Harry Wilson added a second following a miscontrolled long ball by goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. Wilson curled into an unguarded net from 36.6 metres after a return pass from Josh King. The result marked Tottenham's tenth home league loss of the year and leaves the side with just one home win this season. Head coach Thomas Frank defended Vicario and criticised fans who booed during play. Vicario accepted responsibility and described the error as a mis-hit clearance, noting that being booed is part of football.
