"Obviously, football is a massive sport and people have an opinion, which is natural. People expect you to move on quite quickly, and I don't think that's the case,"
"I find it a bit strange and a bit difficult when I hear people speaking about the players at Liverpool and the performances, because I don't think this season is even important from a football aspect for them."
"couldn't get my mate Diogo Jota out of my head"
Caoimhin Kelleher left Liverpool for Brentford last June after making 67 appearances and joining the club's academy in 2015. Diogo Jota died in a car crash last summer at age 28; he scored 65 goals in 182 appearances and helped Liverpool win the FA Cup and League Cup in 2022 and the Premier League title last season. Liverpool currently sit sixth in the Premier League, 14 points behind leaders Arsenal, amid a testing campaign on the pitch. The season has focused more on players' personal and mental wellbeing than on match results, with public expectations to 'move on' seen as unrealistic, and teammates continuing to grieve.
