FBL aiming to take women's football in Germany to new level DW 12/11/2025
"Today marks a historic moment for German women's football. For the first time, all top-division clubs are joining forces and pooling their interests within a league association,"
"For us, this represents a provisional high point in a process that we, as clubs, began together approximately 18 months ago."
""unacceptable demands""
All 14 Women's Bundesliga clubs formally established the Frauen-Bundesliga FBL e.V. and elected Katharina Kiel as president, with Veronica Sass and Florian Zeutschler as vice presidents. The FBL aims to elevate the league's marketing, professionalization, and commercial development and is planned to be rolled out in approximately 18 months. The founding meeting was moved from the German Football Association's (DFB) headquarters to Eintracht Frankfurt's stadium suite after clubs decided to proceed independently rather than as a DFB joint venture. The clubs accused the DFB of making "unacceptable demands," while the DFB denied those claims and the meeting tone appeared more conciliatory.
