"Next Friday, at 4:00 pm, together with you, we will honor the legendary hockey player and famous Dynamo player - Alexander Ovechkin," Dynamo's Instagram post reads.
Ovechkin broke the record previously held by Wayne Gretzky by scoring his 895th career goal against the New York Islanders on April 6.
The team says that invitational tickets to the event, titled 'Dynamo at the start,' will be made available starting on August 18.
